Abstract This collection contains a scrapbook of programs, notes, invitations, and cutouts collected by Eleanor Schmidt Tate when she was a student at Western Maryland College, a menu from the 1931 Christmas Banquet, a menu booklet from the College Inn (Westminster, Md.), a news clipping, "Harlow Must Depend on Green Men," the April 28, 1933 edition of The Gold Bug, and a December 6, 1931 Baltimore American Sports newspaper clipping-"Picture Story Shows Why Terps Swamped Terrors."

Scope and Contents The collection consists primarily of newspaper clippings and supplemented documents that chronicle Morris W. Rannels’ term as superintendent in Cecil County, Maryland, from 1952 to 1960. Among the supplements of materials are photographs of building dedications; programs of graduations and school dedications; surveys of obsolete school buildings; and an evaluation of the county’s financial needs.
